Frequently Asked Questions

Registration

Registering for a course, group registrations, transfers, and who can attend

Browse our course catalog, select the event you want to attend, and click Register Now. You'll be guided through a secure registration form where you can add multiple attendees from your agency in a single registration.

If you'd prefer to register by phone, call (469) 466-8161, Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM CST.

We accept registrations up to and including the day of the class, subject to seat availability. We strongly recommend registering as early as possible — popular courses fill up, and early registration helps your host site plan materials and seating.

Yes. Enter TBD in the first name, last name, and title fields when registering. Once you know who will be attending, email info@lawenforcementseminars.com with your invoice number and the attendee's name, title, phone number, and email address, and we'll update the registration.

Yes. At checkout, choose Invoice My Department instead of paying by card. Your seat is held immediately and your agency's billing contact will receive an invoice. Standard terms are net 30, with payment due before the class start date.

Many of our courses offer reduced per-seat pricing for agencies sending multiple registrants — discount tiers, when available, are shown on the course page during registration. For larger groups (typically 10 or more attendees), email info@lawenforcementseminars.com for a custom quote.

Yes, in most cases. If your agency has committed in writing to pay (signed registration, purchase order, or written confirmation from your billing contact), the attendee will be admitted on class day even if payment has not yet posted.

If you anticipate a delay, please reach out to info@lawenforcementseminars.com ahead of the class so we can confirm arrangements and avoid any check-in issues.

Yes — substitutions are always allowed at no extra charge, including on the day of class.

  • Before class day: email info@lawenforcementseminars.com or call (469) 466-8161 with the new attendee's name, title, phone, and email.
  • Day of class: notify the instructor at check-in and add the new attendee's information to the sign-in sheet — we'll update our records from there.

Email info@lawenforcementseminars.com or call (469) 466-8161 with both invoice numbers and we'll void or refund the duplicate registration.

Civilian agency staff are welcome at most LES courses, including Background Investigations for Police Applicants, Recruiting for Law Enforcement, and other civilian-track classes. A handful of tactical or sworn-only courses have audience restrictions — those are noted on the course page. If you're unsure whether a course is open to civilians, email info@lawenforcementseminars.com and we'll confirm.

Billing & Payment

Invoices, payment methods, purchase orders, and vendor paperwork

Invoices are generated automatically at the time of registration and emailed to the billing contact on file. If you don't see it within an hour, check your spam or junk folder, then email info@lawenforcementseminars.com with the registration name and we'll resend it.

Please double-check that the billing contact name and email are entered correctly during registration to avoid delivery delays.

Standard payment terms are net 30 from the invoice date, with payment expected before the class start date. If the class is fewer than 30 days out, we ask that payment be made before class day. If your agency's payment cycle or fiscal-year cutoff requires different timing, email info@lawenforcementseminars.com and we'll work with you.

Email info@lawenforcementseminars.com with the invoice number and the changes needed — for example a new billing contact, updated email address, added PO number, or revised agency name. We'll update and re-send the corrected invoice, typically within one business day.

Email completed vendor paperwork (and any agency-specific instructions or vendor portal logins) to info@lawenforcementseminars.com. New vendor requests are typically processed within 3 business days.

Email info@lawenforcementseminars.com with your registration details and we'll provide whatever your purchasing department needs to issue the PO — quotes, our W-9, certificate of insurance, vendor forms, or course descriptions. Once the PO is issued, send a copy to the same address and we'll attach it to the invoice.

Check: make payable to Law Enforcement Seminars and mail to:
5435 N Garland Ave., Suite 140-529
Garland, TX 75041

Credit card or ACH: use the secure Pay Now link in your invoice email. If you've misplaced the link, email info@lawenforcementseminars.com with the invoice number and we'll resend it.

Every invoice email includes a secure Pay Now link that accepts all major credit cards. If the link has expired or you've misplaced the email, just reply to this FAQ — email info@lawenforcementseminars.com with the invoice number — and we'll resend it. We can also take card payment over the phone at (469) 466-8161.

First, double-check that the billing zip code matches the one on file with your card. If it still won't process:

  • Try a different browser or clear your browser's cache, then retry.
  • Try a different card.
  • Call (469) 466-8161 and we can take payment over the phone.

If the failure looks like a fraud-protection block, your card issuer may need to authorize the transaction before retrying.

The billing contact on the invoice receives an automatic payment confirmation when payment posts (sales receipt for card/ACH, or a paid-stamped invoice for checks).

To verify status at any time, email info@lawenforcementseminars.com with the invoice number and we'll confirm.

A receipt is automatically emailed to the billing contact at the time the card is charged. If you need a copy, a receipt re-issued to a different email, or a receipt formatted for your accounting department, email info@lawenforcementseminars.com with the invoice number and we'll send one over.

Our W-9 is available for download from the Support page. For certificates of insurance, business licenses, or any other compliance documents your agency's vendor management process requires, email info@lawenforcementseminars.com with the specific request (and any vendor-portal details, if applicable). Most requests are returned within 3 business days.

Training & Class Information

Class hours, location, dress code, materials, lunch, and certificates

Single-day classes: 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM, with a lunch break and short morning/afternoon breaks.

Two-day classes: 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM on Day 1, and 8:00 AM – 12:00 PM on Day 2.

Virtual classes follow the same schedule in Central Standard Time (CST).

The exact schedule for your specific class is shown on the event detail page and in your registration confirmation email.

We host trainings at agency facilities and conference centers across the country, so the location varies by event. The exact address, parking details, and check-in instructions are listed on each course's event page and included in your registration confirmation email.

You'll also receive a reminder email approximately one week before the class with the final logistics.

There is no specific LES dress code. Please follow your agency's policy for outside training — students are welcome (and encouraged) to come in comfortable, casual attire.

What to bring:

  • Course notebooks and class materials are provided.
  • Bring your own writing utensils and any extra notepaper you'd like.
  • A light jacket or layer is wise — training rooms vary in temperature.

Lunch and snacks are not provided. Most host sites have restaurants nearby, and our break schedule accommodates lunch off-site. Specific recommendations for the area are often shared by your instructor on Day 1.

Yes. Each course page includes a detailed description, learning objectives, and topic outline that you can print or forward for approval. If you need a printable summary, training justification document, or a custom overview tailored to your department's training-request format, email info@lawenforcementseminars.com with the course title and we'll send one over.

Email info@lawenforcementseminars.com with your invoice number (or the class title and date) and the correction needed — for example, a name spelling, agency name, or rank. We'll re-issue a corrected certificate, typically within a few business days.

You can also retrieve certificates for any class you've completed at any time from the Training Records page.

Cancellation Policy

Cancellations, refunds, transfers, and what happens if a class is rescheduled

Registrants may cancel up to 14 calendar days before the course start date for a full refund. Cancellations within 14 days of the start date are non-refundable, but you may transfer your seat to another attendee at no charge — see "Can I transfer my seat instead of cancelling?" below.

LES reserves the right to cancel or reschedule a course. If we cancel, your registration fee is fully refunded. Travel, lodging, and other expenses are not reimbursable, so we recommend booking refundable travel for out-of-area courses.

The full policy is available on our Cancellation Policy page.

Email info@lawenforcementseminars.com with your invoice number and a request to cancel, or call (469) 466-8161 Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM CST. Please review the 14-day window above before requesting a refund.

Yes. Substitutions are always allowed at no charge, including the day of class — this is often the simplest option when an attendee can't make it. See Can I transfer my registration to another person? in the Registration section for instructions.

If we have to cancel a class, all registrants receive a full refund of their registration fee. If we reschedule, you may apply your registration to the new date or request a full refund — your choice. In either case, travel, lodging, and other expenses are not reimbursable, so we strongly recommend booking refundable travel and lodging for out-of-area courses.

Hosting

Hosting an LES training at your agency: requirements, costs, and how to propose a class

No — there is no fee for an agency to host an LES training. We ask that the host agency provide:

  • A training room that comfortably seats 25–40 attendees, with basic AV (projector or large display, screen, and Wi-Fi).
  • Help promoting the class to peer agencies in your region.
  • A location that is reasonably accessible by airport and hotel for out-of-town attendees.

LES handles instructor logistics, course materials, marketing, registration, billing, and certificates.

Host agency provides:

  • Training room (25–40 seats) with AV capability and Wi-Fi
  • Regional promotion to peer agencies and partner departments
  • Day-of facility coordination (parking, building access, point-of-contact)

LES provides:

  • Instructor and travel
  • Course materials and student notebooks
  • Marketing, registration platform, and billing
  • Certificates of completion
  • Complimentary host seat(s) — terms vary by course

Most courses need 12–15 paid registrations to confirm. We coordinate a confirmation deadline with the host agency well in advance — if registration is short by that date, we work together to either extend promotion, postpone, or reschedule rather than running an underfilled class.

Visit the Host a Class page to start the conversation, or email info@lawenforcementseminars.com / call (469) 466-8161 with your agency name, location, the course(s) you're interested in, and a tentative date window. We'll take it from there.
